Most likely the sentence is “There is, however, no documented cases where an anomaly allows story physics to work inside of Varia, despite decades of experimentation from our top scientists.”

So Joe’s been coming to this place since the late 1950’s? He’s still young & there are no changes to anyone outside of the stories … which means that they will have to go back to the Joe’s lab set, and convince him in story to change them back.
But they will probably never see their college dorms again.
No assuming that the story takes place in the present year that would be nigh impossible since the ARPNET, the project that spawned the internet, did not start until 1962. and even then it was mainly a place for the military or scientists. The internet would have started right around the early to mid 80’s. So by these facts one can assume that the Varia “standard year” is much much shorter than then a “Earth Year” Given that the first decade or so of the internet would not be able to have any of the functions of the Writing site that the group met at, then the site most likely started in the 90’s. So either Varia’s year is shorter than earths or they are the same size as earth’s year or that the story as a whole takes place in the future. Where the 90’s were roughly 56 years ago
I’m aware of the history of the ARPNET since I was one of the folks using it back in the 70’s, however, I respect the fact that a great many of your readers may not know that. I was mostly wondering if there may be another mechanism relating to the creation of Varia, or if it is likely to disappear after some future upgrade of the chatroom software. Should Varia disappear (a case I’m currently rating as dubious) what would be the fate of the locals? Is there any sort of mechanism to return people back to their homes? & what might the police reports say about people just randomly vanishing, apparently while on this particular chat group?
I am pretty certain the “oh no” is regarding the fact of ‘realistic physics’ on Varia. So yes, the guys won’t be able to turn back, unlike some author of earth decides to write it for them… and we all now how that goes for guys turned girls; chances are below 1%.
After Dark lets you see more private moments that generally happen off camera. These special pages will happen from time to time and 'enhance' the reader's experience. These pages are canon but you don't need to read them to keep up with the story. Those that enjoy the After Dark pages can consider donating, as all donations will go towards adding more After Dark content as the story continues. More info here!
If you like the comic but cannot donate as much or as often as you like, you can still help the comic grow and thrive by taking 30 seconds of time and vote for us on top web comics. You can vote once a day, and the count is reset each month, so vote early and vote often. :)

A very good guess Nyxsus 🙂

Is that the “oh no” we read?

Nothing serious though.
