Tiffany certainly is excited for Brad’s Ding Dong.
Another hard-boiled hair-raising trencoat-thumping trilby-thrilling case closed for Steph Steele! But did her client keep the idol upon returning to Varia? And what’s going on with Ian? Did Rembo ever let Ryan stand up? Will Faye ever get a story where she can just sit around and play her favorite video games in peace? Was Li’l Neville really Mr. Big all along???
All I can think of when reading this page is about the movie RED SONJA (1985) staring Brigitte Nielsen as Sonja and Arnold Schwarzenegger as a Conan (1982) clone. The whole mcguffin was an ancient mystic artifact the “Only women could touch” as it instantly vaporized any man. Hence the weak reason to have Red shepherd it back to the “Evil Queen” who wanted to use its power to summon a demon-god. All the while the group was protecting a virginal steward of the artifact that ended up being the unknowing sacrifice to this deity. So, the McGuffin was also a Red Herring, a deliberate homage to the literary device in a movie called Red Sonja. Sonja means “knowledge” or “wisdom”. The term Red Wisdom is an outdated phrase alluding to being wise about things only gained through questionable, immoral, or carnal experience that was not necessary, deliberate, or was otherwise imposed upon someone. The best recent “red wisdom” example is mentioned in the Scarlet Letter where the punishment to Hester is a red letter A, which if you haven’t read it fits the definition of red wisdom very closely – however it is a book written in 1850.

Fairly sure you are getting ‘Red Sonja’ mixed up with ‘Conan the Destroyer’…
No, Nim’s got the right bit, Sonja had the talisman that only women could touch, Conan the D had the horn that would awaken some moldy old god.
You always were cool
Yeah, Steph is pretty cool, sometimes people just need an inner monologue to remind them of it 🙂
She may be a new character, but I’m heavily invested in Tiffany and I hope she joins the main cast!!!
